As owner/manager of Ron Cowan Appraisal Service, I have appraised or reviewed over 10,000 residential properties in the Puget Sound area since 1977 ranging in value from $5000 to over $4,500,000 and in type of property from a small unbuildable site to a complete study and appraisal of 124 units of an apartment sold for purpose of conversion to a residential condominium and submitted and approved by FNMA, and most all types of residential properties in between.

I have studied real estate at Mesa College in San Diego, CA and completed most all courses offered for residential appraisers over the past 30 years. Employment history includes; Real Estate Sales with Grubb & Ellis Real Estate, Residential Loan Officer and Appraiser for World Savings and Loan, Manager of loan processing, Mortgage loan underwriter, registered with FNMA and training coordinator for Sherwood and Roberts Mortgage Bankers in 5 states. Have given training seminars for major banks, mortgage companies, real estate brokerage groups and Washington Mortgage Bankers Association. I have held panel positions with VA and FHA and staff appraiser for mortgage companies, as well as having been an active independent fee appraiser for over 25 years. I have been a Senior Member with the National Association of Review Appraisers and Loan Underwriters.

I currently hold an active Appraisers License in the state of Washington and a business license as a Real Estate Appraiser. I am currently an approved appraiser with over 30 local and nationwide lenders in the primary and secondary lending market, as well as an active ERC member approved and appraising for many Employee Relocation Companies.

I currently operate a fully equipped real estate appraisal office, including all local on-line data sources supplied by Metro Scan, updated monthly, subscribe to and and am a associate member of the NWMLS Service for access to all current market trend data and individual property statistics in the Puget Sound Region as well as maintain a private data base of local builders costs of construction and development costs.
